Since 1987, Crossroads Care in the Vale, a registered charity, has been supporting people who care for an older person who is confused, forgetful or severely depressed.
Most of our clients – those being cared for – have a form of dementia.
We help relieve Carers from the strain of continuous caring and provide them with some quality time. Read more about our range of flexible services, including help at home, social groups and day centre. Our team also runs a busy programme of informal support groups for carers as well as a free counselling service.
Crossroads Care services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual Carer and the family, working alongside the NHS and local community services. Our services are available to Carers whose dependent relatives are in our client group and live in the Vale of Glamorgan.
All members of our office-based care team, and our care workers in the community, are experienced and fully trained in dementia care. We value and nurture this expertise, as we recognise that it directly benefits each client and Carer. Each member of staff’s training is regularly reviewed and updated, and this is supplemented with the most up to date information on dementia practice and research provided by our direct links with the Cardiff and Vale Memory Clinic.
Because of our specialism in the dementia field, Carers, family friends, relatives and community services staff regularly come to us for help. Our approach is professional, friendly and confidential. So if you need support or advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
