Interlink RCT - 20 years of listening to and supporting the development of people and communities

Interlink is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for Rhondda Cynon Taf, supporting individuals, communities and organisations to work together to make a positive impact on the life of people who live and work in Rhondda Cynon Taf and also in Merthyr Tydfil with Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil (VAMT).

We act as an umbrella body or ‘Hub’ to support over 550 members through helping plan and develop projects, activities and events as well as helping members plan and manage what they do. This is about using all the amazing skills and knowledge within communities to turn ideas into action and to make a difference. Our members come in all shapes and sizes, some are small community groups and others are larger charities, we love working with them all!

We believe stronger communities result from building on their existing assets and strengths,  empowering individuals, communities and organisations to have an equal voice and to make a difference through community development.  The better we understand, respect and value each other,  the more we listen the better we will be able to  and work together to make a difference,  tackle poverty, improve wellbeing and reduce inequality.

Interlink works with volunteers, communities and community and voluntary groups (the Sector)

Interlink’s main areas of work are:

  • Community Advice and Support ‘providing information, advice, training and funding’

  • Health, Social Care and Wellbeing – ‘supporting people and working together on early intervention and prevention to improve health, social care and wellbeing’

  • Citizen, Community and Third Sector Voice ‘helping people communities and third sector organisations to influence and take action on those things that matter to them’
