The Abandoned Animals Association was founded in 1986 by Mrs Olwen Edwards (pictured) - whose dedication to the rescuing and rehoming of unwanted pets eventually led to the forming of a like-minded committee, and our registered Animal Charity.
Following years of rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs and cats while renting kennels at various establishments, our long-term aim was finally realised in September 2010 when, thanks to the generosity of our members and residents of the North Wales area, we opened our very own rescue centre here at Little Pydew, Prestatyn.
Abandoned Animals Association is the oldest registered animal charity in Denbighshire and is the only registered charity in North Wales with this name.
