Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Welsh men, affecting 1 in 8 men. The risk increases to 1 in 3 if there is a family history of the disease.
The core aims of the charity are to:
- Raise awareness of prostate diseases through a dedicated awareness programme for workplaces, clubs, organisations and community events.
- Support treatments for benign prostate disease and prostate cancer in Wales, often funding equipment such as GreenLight Laser for benign prostate disease treatment or the training of medical professionals such as the surgeons using the Da Vinci robotic system for minimally invasive prostate cancer surgery.
- Fund research and innovation to ensure Welsh men have access to the best available treatment on the NHS in Wales.
- Support the education of medical professionals and students through online learning resources and travelling fellowships.
